Adolescent Outpatient Services

Desert Mountain Outpatient Services

Outpatient programming for adolescents focuses on emotional, behavioral and social needs of each individual using an integrated approach to recovery. Our mind-body recovery approach addresses personal, familial and community-based issues faced by the individual.

The goal of our program is to support youth in identifying strategies they and their families can use to cope with the challenges they face. Learning life and social skills, emotional processing and activity and expressive therapies all take place in a group setting to allow youth to learn from others, gain support and accomplish their recovery goals. We address their health and wellness needs within a positive and affirming environment. Programming is offered in varying intensities. We work with adolescents ages 12 and up.

Program goals include:

  • Reducing inpatient returns
  • Maintaining consistent attendance across sessions
  • Maintaining high patient satisfaction
  • Increasing positive clinical outcomes

Program outcomes may include:

  • Decreasing self-harming behaviors
  • Decreasing suicidal thoughts and feelings
  • Developing new ways of coping without substances
  • Managing stress and distress with effective skills and techniques
  • Improving healthy relationship skills with peers
  • Expanding healthy social and communication skills
  • Increasing knowledge about physical and emotional health and wellness
