Psychiatric services for children and adolescents includes a scheduled session with a psychiatric provider. The initial session involves a diagnostic evaluation assessment for additional interventions, such as therapy, family therapy and/or medications. Ongoing follow-up appointments with the provider may involve limited psychotherapy; medication management and education; psychoeducation and collaborative care depending on the treatment needs and individualized plan.
